California's economy has reinvented itself so many times—from a defense industry, to high tech and bio technology. It's time for California to take the lead once again. California should be on the forefront of Green technology—leading the way to develop clean green technologies that propel California's economy into the future, putting people to work that would benefit our environment. As we have done in the past we can harness our evolving economy to meet our economic needs and make the world a better place.
As a member of the Assembly I will:
- Enact legislation to encourage California businesses to explore clean, green advances through research and development tax incentive programs.
- Support environmental standards that require advancement—lower emission standards, higher mileage standards, more zero emission vehicles on the roads, etc.
- Require environmental advances in companies doing business with the state—state contracts are significant and we need to harness that buying power to encourage the growth of green alternatives.
